New To Fishing?
Excited to try something new and enjoy the excitement that fishing Cocoa Beach has to offer, but apprehensive that your fishing knowledge will hinder your ability on the water? Want to build your fishing and angling fundamentals? Even if you’ve never touched a fishing rod in your life, this is the excursion for you.Our Equipment
We believe that having the best gear can really bring your experience to the next level. We outfit our fishing tours with top of the line Hobie Pro Angler series kayaks. Foot driven, and incredibly stable, these kayaks are truly the best of the best for good reason. Hobie’s raised seats and stand-ability provide extreme comfort, and allow the ability to sight fish our skinny water species. Each guest will also be fitted in a non-intruding fishing PFD, top of the line Rods & Reels, a Lowrance fish finder, and all the tackle needed for the trip.
Tour Details
Our Intro to Fishing trip offers an immersive experience covering angling basics such as knot tying, gear selection, fish behavior and biology, on-the-water safety, and even environmental stewardship! Our goal in this offering is to take a less experienced or beginner fisherman and build their confidence both here and on their home waters. After our ~1 hour angling basics course, we will then apply your gained knowledge to an exhilarating 3 hour fishing trip to enjoy the excitement our Cocoa Beach fisheries have to offer.Fishing License
Prior to our fishing trip, guests are required to purchase an inexpensive Florida Salt Water fishing license at https://license.gooutdoorsflorida.com/. An easy step-by-step process will be provided in our confirmation email, or can be handled at your tour location!Trip information
Why Choose Us
Fin Expeditions takes pride in following established best practices of Ethical Ecotourism.
SMALL GROUP SIZE
We want our kayak tours to have a more intimate experience for every guest. Large groups disrupt wildlife habitats and require loud guide communication and a less personalized approach. Other kayak tour agencies put 40 or more people in a group. We typically limit the size of our tours to 12 guests.
TRAINED GUIDES
At Fin Expeditions our guides are highly trained. Other kayak tour agencies may give their guides as little as 2 hours of training. Our guides receive 50+ hours of training before they are certified to lead a tour.
LOCALLY OWNED
Fin Expeditions is locally owned and our tours are run by local guides that are knowledgeable, friendly and know the area inside and out. We support our local community and efforts to conserve and restore the Indian River Lagoon.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL
We are top-rated on Tripadvisor and Google for a reason. We know what it’s like to travel and do what we can to take some of that load off our guests. Just show up and we’ll take care of the details.
BETTER EQUIPMENT
We believe by fully equipping our guests, we provide an upscale experience. We use high-end kayaks with high-back seats for your comfort. We clean and sanitize all equipment and life jackets after each use.
