Frequently Asked Questions
This is a private tour for up to five guests, giving you an intimate experience and plenty of space to enjoy the glowing waters.
Bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon, so visibility can vary nightly. However, the Banana River Lagoon is one of Florida’s most reliable bioluminescent locations. In summer, dinoflagellates often produce bright blue-green trails of glowing water, and in cooler months, comb jellies create softer pulses of refracted light. Your guide will always take you to the areas with the best visibility that night.
Yes! Children are welcome, but they should be comfortable on a small boat and supervised at all times.
Lightweight, quick-drying clothing is best. Bring a light jacket if the evening is cool, and shoes that can get wet.
We constantly monitor the weather right up until tour time. This includes forecast and real-time precipitation, lightning and winds. As tour launch time approaches we pay special attention to the current radar outlook.
If heavy precipitation, lightning and/or wind might lead to unsafe conditions we may go into a 30 minute weather hold and/or cancel the tour. Your guide will be in touch about 45 minutes prior to the scheduled launch time to provide updates. If we cancel we will work with guests to reschedule to another day and/or time but if not possible we will issue a full refund.
