Experience A Peaceful Sunset Paddle Through the Indian River Lagoon

Paddle into the Dawn

Your early morning adventure begins with a gentle launch into the still, glassy waters of the Indian River Lagoon. Your guide helps everyone get settled into their kayaks and sets a relaxed, easy pace as the first light begins to touch the horizon — the perfect moment to breathe in the fresh start of a new day.

From here, you’ll follow a serene route through the Thousand Islands, gliding along narrow mangrove passages and discovering hidden lagoons that feel like secret chambers waking up with the morning.

The Lagoon Comes Alive

As the sky brightens and soft light spreads across the water, the lagoon gently stirs. Birds begin their morning chorus from the mangroves, manatees rise peacefully for air, and dolphins often swim and play in the calm shallows around you. Your knowledgeable guide shares stories about the ecosystem and points out these special wildlife moments, making the experience both peaceful and memorable.

Morning Serenity

Midway through the tour, you’ll enter some of the most tucked-away corners of the Thousand Islands. The water is mirror-like, the air is cool and quiet, and the soft morning light creates a magical atmosphere — the ideal time to simply breathe, take in the beauty, and capture stunning sunrise photos.

Return with the New Day

The final stretch brings you back through open water toward the launch point as the day fully awakens around you. You’ll finish with a sense of calm energy and a perspective of the lagoon that feels completely fresh — a beautiful, quiet beginning that most visitors never get to experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

No experience is required. This tour is beginner-friendly, and your guide will help you get comfortable before launching. The pace remains relaxed throughout, making it suitable for families, first-timers, and seasoned paddlers.

Although wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, our guides are highly trained in locating dolphins, manatees, and other species inhabiting the area. The Thousand Islands is one of the best places in Florida to encounter them, and most of our tours do see wildlife.

We recommend dressing for the weather: comfortable, breathable clothing suitable for getting a little wet, plus a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, and plenty of water. Closed-toe water shoes are helpful but not required.

Yes! Children ages 3+ are welcome when riding in a tandem or triple kayak with an adult. Single kayaks are available for teens aged 13+. Weight limits apply to each kayak type.

No. This is a leisurely-paced tour designed for comfort and enjoyment, not athletic intensity. Expect gentle paddling through calm water, mangrove tunnels, and sheltered lagoons.

We constantly monitor the weather right up until tour time. This includes forecast and real-time precipitation, lightning and winds. As tour launch time approaches we pay special attention to the current radar outlook.

If heavy precipitation, lightning and/or wind might lead to unsafe conditions we may go into a 30 minute weather hold and/or cancel the tour. Your guide will be in touch about 45 minutes prior to the scheduled launch time to provide updates. If we cancel we will work with guests to reschedule to another day and/or time but if not possible we will issue a full refund.

Yes! Your guide will take complimentary daytime photos throughout the tour and send you a downloadable album within 24–36 hours at no extra cost.

We keep groups small (typically maximum 12–16 guests – often less) to ensure a personal, relaxed, and wildlife-friendly experience. We do not have a minimum number of guests. Smaller groups also allow guides and guests to navigate the route more easily, and to get to know each other.
